Family Tree

The two snapshots below show portions (but not all) of Mike and Jane's family tree. Shown in these two snapshots are Mike and Jane's grandparents, parents and their siblings, Mike and Jane's own siblings and their children, and Mike and Jane's children. Notably not shown in these two snapshots are Mike and Jane's ancestors at the great-grandparent or higher levels, nor any of their or their siblings' grandchildren. The geneaolgical data on which this tree is based can be found in the GEDCOM file named famTree_20230127.ged.
GEDCOM is the standard text format for exchanging ancestry information that is used by Ancestry.com and other popular genealogy software. To view and inspect the details of the complete family tree, import the GEDCOM file into any genealogy application and then use its tree viewer to navigate the tree.
Credit is due for assembling this genealogical information to Elizabeth MacMillan (nee McFadden, my mother Agnes' sister), Pat Neal (my cousin on the Thompson side), Dick Robb (Jane's uncle), and Damon Dreke (my niece, Katie's husband). Note that Elizabeth, Pat, and Dick did their research "in the old days", when building a family tree required interviewing living relatives and requesting printed copies of census, marriage, and other records by mail. Elizabeth even made a trip to Ireland in search of information on the McFadden and Barrett lines. As of 2023, when I write this, much source information has been made available in digital form online, thus making the exploration of one's family tree infinitely easier.
